CRS start

Published by Alessandro Caredda on

With the article CRS start, we provide the command to perform a complete start of the CRS along with all its related resources.

In the event that the RAC node has undergone maintenance activities or a change in some hardware component, and the CRS has been previously shut down and automatic start disabled, once the node is available again, we will first need to re-enable automatic start and then perform the start.

This will initiate the start of all resources, starting from the DiskGroups, followed by ASM, the SCAN VIPs (Virtual IPs) which allow connection across multiple nodes, and the MGMTDB instance, which is used by Oracle as a repository to manage the RAC.

The command to perform the CRS start to be executed with the root user is:

crsctl start crs

Once the executed command returns the command prompt, we will check if all resources have returned correctly Up and Running with the command:

crsctl status res -t

If all resources have returned correctly online, the activity can be considered concluded..
