srvctl start database

Published by Alessandro Caredda on

With the article “srvctl start database,” we provide the command to start all instances of an Oracle database in an RAC through CRS.

When facing server maintenance activities involving an RAC, we are required to stop all instances that make up the Oracle cluster.

No worries. We’ve got you covered.

If, for any specific activity, you need to start all instances comprising the RAC, you can proceed as indicated in the following article, which presents the initial phase of checking and saving the state of resources before performing the activity.

Then, the start is executed with the srvctl command, followed by a final verification to ensure that all resources have returned correctly ONLINE as before the activity.

Before executing the start, check the status of resources with the command:

crsctl status res -t

The command to execute srvctl start database is:

srvctl start database -d <nome_database>

Example:

srvctl start database -d DBTESTp

Once the prompt is returned, recheck the status of resources with the command:

crsctl status res -t
